SHAUN FLORES Friday 28th September 2018 Snapchat head quarters , what a fantastic experience to be at the company that gave birth to the world youngest billionaire at 26. Here I am with my dear Afro futuristic buddy , we connected over killmonger and haven’t turned back. A meeting with the account manager who informed us of the colossal power Snapchat wields on our young generation and how they are only doing more and more to improve it for us as their largest consumers 18-24 year olds after our brief we got our hands on the essence of Snapchat their filters and lenses ! Alongside one of the funniest filters we had the chance to make Snapchat was an experience I would highly recommend to anyone ! Onward, upwArd let the power of social media drive our greatness.

My First Ever TED X Talk 29th July

So Yes on the 29th July I gave a Ted X talk. Gave a Ted X Talk on the failures of multiculturalism and the education system how it has failed the black community in teaching us a history that is outside the white paradigms Its still very much surreal, I walked onto that stage and I WAS SOOO NERVOUS. I forgot most of my words. I had to improvise the talk from what I could remember about it. To speak on the failures of multiculturalism and the education system was a dream come through the support was fantastic. It was in correlation to my research which I will detail below. My research about the 3 Issues Black men face  I would argue that one of the main issues when it comes to improving the outcomes for young black men in education from early years to university.   I base this understanding on a number of academic studies of which I researched extensively when I delivered a talk about the attainment gap at a BAME Leaders Conference (2017) for Roehampton University. Aspiring, journalist and presenter Shaun Flores otherwise known as the Pink Lipped Brown  Skinned Kid, is known for his charm, humour and utter penchant for knowledge. Hailing from South West London, birthing talent. His height 6ft2 188cm is a reflection of his ambition. He is not an overachiever or over-ambitious. He is becoming a master of self, Tenacious, and hungry to become the best he can be. He commands a room with the base of his voice and his reassured presence. Chest pumped and Straight talking, he will leave you with a memory. A podcaster he can be, a reporter and a journalist. His way with words is one that compels you to listen to him. Further making him an ideal voice-over artist coming from a Trinidadian background, Shaun found himself in fashion walking the catwalks , but there is no greater catwalk than that of life itself. Shaun has faced structural disadvantages and individual challenges which have only been fuel to his ever-burning fire. ...

The End of Media Trust, The Beginning of Journalism

And now I bring to an end of a fantastic 10 weeks with media trust. I have learnt so much about myself. I have been paired with an amazing mentor. Now I know who I want to be and what I will be doing. I want to be a journalist, working in radio, podcast and reporting political commentary. I will be an expert and my journey has only just begun. I will be applying for a journalism training course and my PhD as well with the hope of going to drama school. I am in the business of exploring my character not only professionally, but also personally.
